Completed over a decade ago, Mountview remains a strong example of timeless minimalist limestone design. The home combines clean architectural lines, simple forms and carefully considered detailing with the natural warmth and texture of Mount Gambier limestone.

Custom-cut limestone pieces in 50 mm and 100 mm heights were laid in a staggered random course using varied lengths, creating a refined linear pattern across the facade. The laying style introduces subtle movement, shadow and depth while maintaining a calm and highly resolved architectural appearance.

Inspired by the growing popularity of long-format artisan brickwork, this project demonstrates how limestone can deliver a more natural and premium alternative to conventional linear masonry. The stone combines the clean rhythm and precision of contemporary brick design with the softness, variation and permanence only genuine limestone can provide.

Flush detailing, recessed openings and dark bronze elements reinforce the restrained architectural palette, while changing light across the limestone surfaces brings warmth and texture throughout the day.
