Classical form in articulated limestone.

Located in Toorak, this impressive family home uses the timeless beauty of natural stone to create a classic, enduring look. Designed by Christopher Doyle Architects and built by Emoc Construction, the property uses Mount Gambier limestone to establish a strong, calm presence from the street right through to the interior.

The facade highlights exactly what can be achieved with expert craftsmanship. Master stonemasons at Wilmoore Allstone carefully laid the smooth Plainface limestone blocks, adding custom-carved corner pieces and crisp detailing for a flawless, high-quality finish. A standout feature of the property is the grand, self-supporting entrance arch, which brings real character and elegance to the home. Every stone surface was then hand-sanded to perfection.

Beyond its stunning street appeal, building with solid Mount Gambier limestone offers practical, everyday benefits. The natural thermal mass of the stone helps regulate indoor temperatures, keeping the home comfortable and energy-efficient year-round. Its durable, low-maintenance finish ensures it won’t date like render or paint.
