Douglas Estate

A refined Georgian residence defined by symmetry, proportion and permanence.
Designed by Christopher Doyle Architects and built by Royale Construction, Douglas Street draws on the enduring principles of Georgian architecture; balanced proportions, disciplined geometry and timeless materiality. Anchored by a grand arched timber entry, the residence combines architectural scale with a calm and elegant presence.
Bruhn supplied premium Mount Gambier limestone for the home’s double-skin blockwork facade, detailed mouldings and architectural features. Expertly crafted by Sutherland Stone Construction, the custom bevel-edged limestone blocks create strong horizontal shadow lines that reinforce the home’s symmetrical form and refined detailing.
The natural warmth and texture of the South Australian limestone softens the precision of the architecture, giving the residence depth, character and a sense of permanence. Beyond its visual appeal, the solid limestone construction also provides lasting durability, thermal performance and acoustic insulation; contributing to the comfort and longevity of the home.

Douglas Street is a considered example of how authentic natural stone can elevate contemporary classical architecture, combining craftsmanship, performance and enduring architectural presence.
